Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Dennis Liu, operating as a sole trader (ABN 15 349 146 521) ("we", "us"), for the use of Florence, a voice-based AI maths tutor. By creating an account or using Florence you agree to these terms.

1. Who can use Florence

Accounts may only be created by adults aged 18 or over. Students under 18 may use Florence only through an account created and supervised by their parent or guardian, who is responsible for the student's use of the service and agrees to these terms on their behalf.

2. The service

Florence provides AI-powered maths tutoring by voice, with a shared whiteboard. Florence is currently in beta: features may change, be interrupted, or be withdrawn. The free tier includes a limited amount of lesson time, which we may change from time to time.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details confidential and let us know via the Help & Feedback page if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Acceptable use

Florence is for personal, educational use. You must not misuse the service — including attempting to disrupt or overload it, probe or circumvent its security or usage limits, use it for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to extract other users' data.

5. AI-generated content

Florence's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. They are provided as educational assistance and may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Please use judgement and verify anything important. Florence is not a substitute for a qualified teacher or professional advice.

6. Your content and our content

You (or the student) keep ownership of anything you submit to Florence. You give us permission to process it as needed to operate the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Florence service, software and branding belong to us and our licensors.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we handle it, and forms part of these terms.

8. Suspension and closing your account

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You can stop using Florence at any time and ask us to delete your account and data via the Help & Feedback page.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees. To the extent permitted by law, the service is otherwise provided "as is", and our liability is limited to resupplying the service.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/TERRITORY], Australia.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Florence evolves. We will update the date at the top of this page and flag material changes on the site; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
